Village Montessori School at Bluemont

Something new is growing in Bluemont!
When Michael and Toby Gress moved to Bluemont, they were drawn by the lush beauty of the landscape and the wonderful sense of community they found in this quiet little village in western Loudoun County. They moved into a home right next to the community center, with nine acres of rolling hills and a fabulous pond, and found themselves very much at home.
This rural setting with its plants, flowers and wildlife were the perfect place for Toby’s dream of a Montessori school where the children could really connect with the wonder of the world around them and learn in the way most natural to them. Michael and Toby both have over 30 years of experience in working with pre-school children and they have created an ideal learning environment right in their own backyard!
In what used to be the old barn, they have created a peaceful and nurturing school - an ideal learning place for children---with the most gorgeous views! You just have to see it to believe it!
Village Montessori School at Bluemont is an authentic "Children's House" in the classical Montessori style. The school offers an individualized learning environment that responds to a child's unique abilities, learning styles, and interest through excellent teachers, and a specially prepared and fully equipped Montessori classroom.
The latest good news is that Michael and Toby are experimenting (within their current licensing) with adding elementary level learning and so far the integration of their 4 elementary students is working out quite beautifully. The school is full right now, with a waiting list, and when the economy repairs itself, they will consider adding one more classroom.
You can explore the school virtually at www.villagemontessori.org, but they would really love to have you set up a time to drop in for a visit. They are right next to the Community Center at 33874 Snickersville Turnpike. You can reach them at the school number at 540-554-2284 or by email at Toby@villagemontessori.org.
